The first week of a puppy’s life is an extremely delicate and important time that has a huge impact on its future development. It is a moment when the little ones are just beginning to experience the world — very calmly, close to their mother and in a sense of complete safety. In our kennel, each of these first days unfolds in an atmosphere of peace, care and attentive supervision.
Calm, Warmth and the Mother’s Presence
The first days of a puppy’s life are spent mainly sleeping, feeding and resting close to their mother. Her presence is essential — she provides warmth, a sense of security and natural care. We make sure the mother has calm, comfortable conditions so she can fully focus on her puppies. External stimuli are kept to a minimum, as silence and stability are crucial during this period.
Constant Observation and Breeder’s Care
Even though the puppies are still very small, they require constant monitoring. Each day we observe their behavior, weight gain and overall condition. We respond to the needs of both the puppies and their mother, ensuring proper nutrition, hygiene and comfort. This is a time when the breeder’s attentiveness and experience play a vital role.
First Contact with Scent and Touch
From the very first days, puppies begin to discover the world through their senses. Although they cannot yet see and their hearing is limited, they respond to scents and gentle touch. Short, calm contact with humans helps them gradually get used to the caregiver’s presence and build a sense of safety. Everything happens at a very gentle pace, without haste or excessive interference.
Rest and Regeneration
Most of the first week of life is spent sleeping — this is when a puppy’s body develops most intensively. We provide the right temperature, cleanliness and comfort so the puppies can rest peacefully and grow. Well-rested first days are the foundation for healthy development in the weeks to come.
A Quiet but Crucial Beginning
The first week of a puppy’s life in our kennel is a time filled with calm, tenderness and care. Although it may seem that very little is happening, this is when the foundations of health, immunity and a sense of security are formed. It is a peaceful yet incredibly important beginning of a journey that, with each passing week, will become richer in discovery, play and joy.
